From October 27 to 29, 2015 BirdLife European and Central Asian Partnership Meeting (EPM) was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The total number of 43 partners was present at the meeting, sharing their experience and ideas.

On Saturday, 10 October 2015, in the territory of the Tashkent Botanical Garden took place an eco-action "House for the birds: waiting for new settlers." The joint action was organized by the Society for the Protection of Birds and "Murad Buildings" company. During this action, 60 artificial nests for small owls and tits were installed.

October 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Botanical Garden will take place an action "Bird's House: Waiting for new settlers," during which it is planned to install 60 birdhouses for small owls and tits.

On 3 and 4 October, 2015, tens of thousands of eyes all over Europe (and even beyond) will turn to the sky to witness the spectacle of bird migration at BirdLife Europe's annual Euro Birdwatch. Migration counts in each country are organised either through a network of counting stations manned by experienced birdwatchers or through field trips to important bird areas. The numbers are collated by the country's national BirdLife partner and then passed on to the European centre, which this year is the Netherlands', Vogelbescherming Nederland. This organisation will publish preliminary results on the evening of 4 October and a full report later on http://www.eurobirdwatch.eu/.

Throughout the August, 2015 training on the preparation of two new staff members - education assistant and public relations assistant - was held in the UzSPB office.

On August 14-15, 2015 UzSPB carried out annual autumn counts of Pheasant on the territory of Dalverzin hunting-management area. The analysis of the results allowed estimating the number of the specie on the territory in autumn 2015 equal to 15,950 individuals.

On 18-24 August, 2015 in Almaty on the basis of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi was held XIV International Ornithological Conference of Northern Eurasia.

July

On July 17, 2015, "Murad Buildings" company posted an announcement of the new social-ecological project "Waiting for new settlers" on their Facebook page. According to it, they were going to manufacture and install 2000 birdhouses in the parks and courtyards of Tashkent. UzSPB employees took a great interest in this news. Being one of the leading environmental organizations, UzSPB has extensive experience in this area. Besides, UzSPB has developed a method of manufacturing artificial nesting places considering local conditions.

On June 19, 2015 in Dalverzin hunting-management area the training on conducting botanical monitoring was held as a joint project of UzSPB and the National University of Uzbekistan "Development of mechanisms for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity of major ecosystems in Uzbekistan".

On May 23, 2015 UzSPB staff and volunteers organized a training on ornithology and birdwatching in the framework of the project "School of guides and instructors of ecological and tourist routes". The project is implementing by the Federation of Extreme and Mountain Tourism of Uzbekistan.

On May 18, 2015 UzSPB staff visited Namangan State University and conducted a meeting with 16 students and teachers of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography. The meeting was aimed at activization of existing "Eco birds" club's work and preparation for inclusion it into UzSPB student clubs network. The event war organized under the aegis of Spring Alive campaign in Uzbekistan.

On April 24, 2015 the 10th General Meeting of UzSPB took place. On the meeting reports and presentations about results of UzSPB work in 2014 as well as evaluation of work were made. Society's work in 2014 was evaluated as "good". In the agenda reports about executive directorate and branches activities, identification of key activities for 2015 and other questions were included.

On April 10, 2015 presentation of the manual "Conservation and sustainable use of the resources of biodiversity of the main ecosystems of Uzbekistan" took place in the Tashkent City Committee for the Nature Protection. More than 50 people including representatives of regional, city and local committees for the Nature Protection, ministries, universities, international conservation organizations, NGOs and media participated in the event.

In early April 2015 more than 535 children and grown-ups in eighth time celebrated the first spring ecological date - International Bird Day in 4 regions of Uzbekistan. In this day UzSPB members and volunteers organized lectures, presentations, bird observations in student birdwatching clubs, schools and universities.

On April 1, 2015 in the International Bird Day the new internet resource www.birds.uz was opened. It was created by the team of young enthusiasts to raise the level of conservation education and popularize birdwatching in our country.

Another meeting of Phasianus student birdwatching club took place on February 4, 2015 and was especially rich and interesting both for students - members of the club and for guests. Among 16 participants was a guest from UK - Stephanie Ward, Partner Development Officer for Central Asia. She met club members and awarded most active volunteers with presents and souvenirs provided by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

On February 3, 2015 the meeting with students on the subject "The role of wetlands in nature conservation" took place in the Tashkent State Technical University. The event was dedicated to the World Wetlands Day and joined 160 participants from students and deputies of the Oliy Majlis from the Ecological movement of Uzbekistan.

On January 30 and February 2, 2015 in Poytaxt business-center and legislative chamber of Oliy Majlis two round tables dedicated to the World Wetland Day took place. On the both meetings UzSPB staff made presentations about ornithological investigations on Sudochie lake system and results of International Waterbird Census in Uzbekistan in 2015.

On January 10-11, 2015 Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds and student birdwatching clubs took part in the International Waterbird Census (IWC) on waterbodies and reservoirs in different regions of Uzbekistan. On the weekend 30 UzSPB members organized different events in 3 regions of Uzbekistan. They counted 3860 waterfowls of 41 species.
