WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY IN UZBEKISTAN

On May 12-13, lovers of birds and nature around the world will celebrate the World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) for the twelfth time! This year's WMBD theme 'Unifying our voices for bird conservation!' emphasizes the partnership of this global campaign organizers aimed at raising awareness of the difficulties faced by migratory birds. Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds offers student clubs to organize activities timed to the WMBD at their universities and schools!

Birdwalks timed to the World Migratory Bird Day will be organized on IBAs in three different regions of Uzbekistan. On IBA 'Dalverzin hunting-management area', for instance, birdwalks for local people and visitors of this site will be focused on breeding biome species of the unique riparian forest. This event will be in line with 'We need this forest!' campaign aimed at the restoration and maintenance of the riparian forest in Dalverzin.

The WMBD event will also raise awareness of local people and land users of IBA 'Ayakagitma lake' about globally threatened raptors breeding on this site. On potential IBA 'Amankutan pass' this event will target pupils of the school №111 who are future landusers of this territory.
